Sara Riel is making an impact during mental health awareness month! We have planned and will be involved in a variety of initiatives that aim to engage the community and reduce the stigma surrounding mental health. Read more below and learn about where we’ll be this month, what we’re doing, and access mental health resources!

Events

May 6 – Healthy Relationships: Sara Riel is facilitating a workshop at Access Transcona. Please call ACCESS at 204-938-5555 to register.

May 9 – Mental Wellness Community Resource Fair: Sara Riel’s Manager of Mental Health Services, Cameron Tindall, will be the MC for this event, with numerous staff attending. Sisler High School, 1360 Redwood Avenue. Doors open at 5pm.

May 12 – Wellness Walk & Run: A community walk/run at St. Vital Park to raise funds for mental health services. Event starts at 9 am. Participants can register at sarariel.ca. Proceeds to support Sara Riel’s ongoing programs.

May 13 & 27 – Coping and Resiliency Peer Support Group: Sara Riel is facilitating a workshop at Access Transcona, from 2:00-4:00 pm. Please call ACCESS at 204-938-5555 to register.

May 16 & 30 – Living with Schizophrenia Peer Support Group: Sara Riel is facilitating this peer support group at 66 Moore Avenue, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.  Email Rob at [email protected] or call 431-588-3290 to register.

May 21 – Communication and Decision Making: Sara Riel facilitating a workshop at Access Transcona. Please call ACCESS at 204-938-5555 to register.

Check Out Support – Throughout May, Sara Riel is very pleased to once again partner with the great teams at Tyler’s No Frills (1500 Plessis) and Chris’ No Frills (600 Notre Dame), who will both be accepting donations at the checkout in support of Sara Riel.

Social Media Awareness Campaign: Throughout the month, Sara Riel will share information and resources on its social media platforms.
